MOUNTAIN TOURISM MASTERPLAN
After months of feasibility studies and site checks in the Kyrgiz mountains, just 30km outside of Bishkek, an interesting project has now officially been kicked off:
The renovation, improvement and connection of the existing old soviet ski areas is being approved to creating an attractive all-year mountain resort.
The convenient vicinity to the city will make this area a perfect, short time attraction for city residents, as well as Kyrgyzstan tourists.
The first section of a new ropeway brings guests to +2.100m where a fantastic Bishkek City view awaits the visitors.
This plateau is also the entry to a first stage ski area around the existing Oruu Sai ski zone. In a first stage a large kids and beginner snow and ice park will be created.
The project is also a great offer to escape the constantly growing city summer heat and to enjoy the mild and fresh mountain climate.
The city’s public bus will bring visitors to the the visitor center and bottom station and within a 12 minute gondola ride the plateau can be reached.
State of the art environmental standards have been followed in the project approach. The ropeway will avoid large numbers of cars in the mountain zone, no trees need to be cut, and natural ponds and creeks are respected and integrated.
